Unterstützung bei der Projekt-Validierung nach den freiwilligen Carbonstandards
Hintergrund
The Sofala Community Carbon Project develops sustainable land use and rural development activities in communities within the Gorongosa National Park buffer zone in Sofala State, central Mozambique. Habitat restoration, forest management and conservation of biodiversity can generate livelihood benefits and verified emission reductions (VERs). The project works with rural smallholders to promote sustainable land use on 10,000 hectares. In this area, smallholder farmers can choose to adopt mitigation activities from different land use systems (agroforestry and forestry). For each of these systems, technical specifications have been elaborated following the Plan Vivo System. Based on UNIQUE’s support the project obtained the gold level from the Climate, Community & Biodiversity Alliance (CCBA) for Exceptional Community and Biodiversity Benefits.
