Agricultural and Food Value Chains Assessment
Background
Agricultural output in Yemen has been declining due to political fragility and conflict and climate change-related extreme weather events. The objective of the assignment is to conduct value chain studies for poultry, dairy and beverages through a comprehensive assessment and multi-pronged approach. The assignment includes the identification of (i) investment and financing opportunities for each value chain and (ii) specific policy, regulatory, infrastructure and other key environment constraints that need to be addressed to realize the investment potential within 3-5 years. Further, the study (iii) assesses the availability of required services and knowledge within the private and public sectors. Finally, the diagnostic (iv) defines the need for IFC advisory and investment support to prepare and implement bankable investment projects.
