Climate Risk Assessment in Selected Sub-Basins of Lake Rukwa
Background
Most recent climate projections indicate a significant increase in climate change-related losses and damages, posing a growing risk to the sustainable development of least developed countries. Against this background, the GIZ is implementating the global programme “Risk Assessment and Management for Adaptation to Climate Change”. The programme aims at generating practical guidelines and recommendations on climate risk assessment and effective climate risk management. Within this framework, UNIQUE was contracted to conduct an in-depth climate risk assessment of potential economic and non-ecnomic lossess and damages in selected sub-basins of the Lake Rukwa Basin in Tanzania.
