Climate-Smart Land Use Investment Accelerator
Background
There is a convergence of interest in promoting climate smart land use among governments, public and private investors. A growing number of investors are seeking to deploy capital in climate smart land use projects that create reasonable financial returns and generate environmental and social benefits. However, a major roadblock for substantial capital deployment is the lack of well-structured and investment-ready projects. To address this challenge, Climate Focus and UNIQUE developed the “Climate-Smart Land Use Investment Accelerator.” This facility catalyzes investment-readiness of projects and businesses through strategic sourcing, development, and structuring. The aim of the “Climate-Smart Land Use Investment Accelerator” is to bridge the gap between a growing pool of undeployed capital and innovative investable climate smart projects.
