Digital Forest Management Planning - Strengthening Private Forest Cooperation
Background
Forest management planning and reporting are becoming more important as a basis for advice and funding for forest management in private forests, especially regarding climate change. It is not effectively used for this purpose due to a lack of digitization norms. In this forest strategy project, the MLR has set itself the goal of strengthening forestry cooperatives to meet the challenges of climate change. The project aimed to support private forest owners and cooperatives with digital, customer-oriented operational plans using remote sensing techniques and considering risk aspects. The resulting forest geospatial and planning information was based on the forest owners' formulated management objectives, followed official guidelines to ensure integration into forest information systems, and was made available in digital formats.
