Forest Tending with the New 'Spacer' Technique
Background
Within the framework of the "WEHAM Scenarios" project financed by the Federal Ministry of Food and Agriculture, alternative forest treatment and wood use scenarios were developed in a stakeholder participation process. The scenarios resulting from the stakeholders' statements quantify and clarify the different demands made on the forest and its products in Germany. The results provide decision-making aids for future options for action. UNIQUE was commissioned with the conception and moderation of three workshops with stakeholders from Germany. Different demands on the forest were developed in small groups in order to use them as control variables to describe future forest treatment and wood use, and to develop scenarios from them.
Our contribution
- Conception and overall moderation of three stakeholder workshops.
- Moderation of working groups to develop central input variables for the (WEHAM-) scenarios.
