Impact monitoring project “Management of natural resources” (PMRN)
Background
The Project Management of Natural Resources (PMRN) assisted 18,000 smallholders by managing their natural resources in the Oriental Region of Paraguay. Around 50% of the producers availed themselves and applied forestry measures. The area covering sustainable forest management is around 7,500 hectares. UNIQUE was contracted by PMRN to identify and to systemically assess the forest impacts achieved by the project on a ranch, sector and institutional level. The applied methodology for the assessment was a concept named Impact Monitoring. Furthermore, quantitative and qualitative data were collected through semi-standardized interviews with stakeholders at different levels and systemically surveyed.
