Bestandsaufnahme für Pilot-Staatsforstbetriebe
Hintergrund
Kyrgyzstan is seeking for a more effective forest policy reform that would promote community based forest management (CBFM) and greater economic use of resources. Since there are currently more than 20,000 tenants holding 15% of the State Forest Fund area, it is a necessity to clearly determine and distinguish roles, rights and obligations related to use and management of forest resources. The project Steering Committee requests to set up baselines for pilot leskhozes (management units), to determine relevant management approaches for each leskhoz and to develop the unified monitoring and evaluation system for pilot leskhozes. To undertake these tasks, GIZ has requested UNIQUE to conduct a baseline study.
