Ecological Inventory in a Protected Forest in the Black Forest
Background
The Department of Forest Conservation at the Forest Research Institute in Freiburg is responsible for the observation and scientific monitoring of the protected forest areas in Baden-Württemberg. The focus here is particularly on restricted-access forests, for which random sample inventories are carried out at regular intervals. Through the precise observation of these forests, the natural processes taking place there can be recorded and reproduced in detail. The inventory sampling method makes it possible to draw scientifically valid conclusions from the data. Against this background, UNIQUE was commissioned with the mapping of parts of a restricted-access forest in the Feldberg area. This was a repeat inventory with 50 sample points.
