Improve Management of the Bossématié Nature Reserve
Background
To combat deforestation and forest degradation, the Ivorian government is actively promoting large-scale agroforestry systems as part of its national REDD+ strategy. This initiative contributes to the achievement of the National Determined Contribution outlined in the Paris Climate Convention. The consortia GFA-Unique was contracted by GIZ to support the Ivorian government in the implementation of the “Programme de Gouvernance et Gestion durable des Ressources Naturelles des espaces Comoé et Taï en Côte d'Ivoire” (Pro2GRN). This program, funded by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ), aims to facilitate integrated governance for the sustainable use of natural resources, increase agricultural productivity, and improve the management of the remaining forests and protected areas.
